[ what items there are ] Items can be bought in shops, and if you're lucky some can also be picked up in the streets. Certain items are also "gifts," which means that they serve no actual purpose -- also note that these are the only types of items that can be given to other players. Complete item listing and default prices (without any levels of charisma, and not at a discount shop):
What each item actually does: Perfect Dandelion - A flower, given as a gift and serves little practical purpose. Flowers will eventually wilt and disappear from your inventory. Scroll of Turning (SoT or SoTrn) - Choose a direction to read the scroll in, and all vampires in the block of that direction will stumble around to a random direction; there is a chance that they may resist the scroll, which increases with their level of the power Stamina. A target affected by a SoT will also lose 10 BP, so it is possible to use this item as a weapon; however, it is most effective when used against vampires with low BP (around 300-500 or so) and without any levels of Stamina. Perfect Red Rose - A flower, given as a gift and serves little practical purpose. Flowers will eventually wilt and disappear from your inventory. Perfect Black Orchid - A flower, given as a gift and serves little practical purpose. Flowers will eventually wilt and disappear from your inventory. Garlic Spray (GS) - Does a random amount of damage to a target (25 to 50). A vampire with Shadows-3 can use two at once, dealing 50-100 damage. It is best to use GS on vampires with under 1350 BP or so. Note that GS is a weapon; do NOT use it unless you have a lot of them and are trying to kill someone. Scroll of Displacement (SoD) - This scroll can be read at others or yourself, and transports the target to a random location in the same city - good for evading pursuit, moving enemies further away from you, or trying to get closer to a destination. Vial of Holy Water (HW) - Deals BP-based damage to a target. The actual formula for how this works is not very important to know about (there are calculators floating about that will do everything for you), but the point is that the higher your target's blood count, the more damage is done. It is best to use HW on vampires with over 1300-1400 BP or so; any lower and Garlic Spray is more efficient. Note that Holy Water is a weapon; do NOT use it unless you have a lot of them and are trying to kill or badly injure someone. Scroll of Teleportation (SoTele) - Instantly transports you to a specified location. A handy method of traveling anywhere, but very expensive so it isn't recommended for casual use. Diamond Ring - A ring, given as a gift and serves little practical purpose. Scroll of Succour (SoS) - Use to teleport to the location of a vampire to whom your vampire is bound; either their sire or their partner. Scroll of Accounting (SoA) - This scroll allows its user to see the status of their bank account no matter where they are. It only needs to be bought once, as it can not be used up. To see how many coins you have banked, simply click the "My Vampire" link at the top; your balance will be displayed right after the listing of the scroll itself. Sprint Potion (SP) - When a vampire drinks the potion, he or she sprints 5 spaces in the chosen direction. Useful in a hurry, for example during Celerity quests. There is also a gift shop located at Gloom and 1st, called The Cloister of Secrets. It has a variety of gift items, including unique ones that aren't found in other shops. The Cloister of Secrets does not move like the other shops, and the power of Charisma does not apply -- in conjunction with the lack of a discount, the items' prices are also inflated slightly. A similar shop lies at Zelkova and 47th; The Eternal Aubade of Mystical Treasures, already mentioned in the "Buildings" section. Complete item listing and prices:
