Upon logging in, this is what you will see. Take note of everything; I'll go over each part step-by-step.
First, I'll discuss the links at the very top...
⇨ "My Vampire": This allows you to examine your own stats. This includes how much blood you have, your powers (if any), items you own, location, if you've sired any other vampires, and your lineage. Some are "master vampires" - this only means that your vampire does not have a sire, and confers zero status or gives you any benefits at all.
⇨ "The City": The default page, which the example image above is showing. It allows you to do everything.
⇨ "How To Play": A small and basic guide for helping out newbies, which you won't need to bother with if you're reading this.
⇨ "FAQ": Frequently Asked Questions. If there's anything you don't know, take a look here and it should be answered. Hopefully I cover everything in this guide, and you won't need to check out the FAQ.
⇨ "News": Updates pertaining to the game. This is very rarely updated anymore, so it's not really worth checking out. If you're interested in a first-hand account of the game's history (some, anyway) feel free to look. However, keep in mind that older updates are not listed - I have an old copy of them and may upload it to this site if someone reminds me to.
⇨ "Chat": The game has a built-in chat for the more sociable players, but I do NOT recommend going there. Instead, register on one of the many forums; I will provide links if you keep reading.
⇨ "Log Out": Self-explanatory - this logs you out of the game.
We can skip all the way to the bottom of the grid for the rest of the pertinent links.
⇨ "More Commands": This enables you to perform ations such as speaking, giving away coins or gifts, and and using items in your possession.
⇨ "Log Out": Same as above.
⇨ "Click here for more detail": Same as clicking the "My Vampire" link.
If you're confused on directions, take a look at these images. The first is the basic layout, and the second is another layout people will use when talking about specific locations of vampires/items/etc. For example, the vampire "Last Kiss" is South of Eagle and 79th.
